Itchy Hands
Itchy Hands
This is what my brain looks like when it’s developing ideas.
We artists often forget to showcase the wonderful places our minds go to when we problem-solve, problem-find, and even when we’re idling. Too often we only see the final results and rarely the dynamic and non-linear journey.
I’ve put together a little book of sketches and unfinished work in 2013 called Itchy Hands to celebrate the chaos of my design process. Without it, none of my ideas would be where they are today.

Special Thanks | Mom
Deer & Centipede
My mom saved tons of doodles from when I was young—the drawing above I did when I was 8 (1996). I’d always bring along a clipboard of scratch paper and a pen when she made me go shopping with her.
COCKTA
I thank my 6th grade teacher for making script mandatory in class. She was a such hard-ass.
Animal Friends
Studying and drawing animals is so therapeutic for me. There’s so much to learn from their forms and the way nature engineered them.
Minji, The Lion
One of my characters from LI.
Critique Phrases
The way we designers critique and dissect things—at least I do.
Secret Admirer
I found a blue post-it note in my college school locker one day. It was sweet. He also probably used Google Translate. LOL.
Inventory
Sometimes I enjoy sketching out a project’s inventory as opposed to making a list. Though the list is probably more practical.
Dream Bathhouse
Can you just imagine? Ugh, it’d be so wonderful. I need to revisit and paint this.
Type Obsession
I must admit. I have an addiction.
#truth
“It starts with individuals, a really important factor in people's behavior is their community. People are influenced by what other people are doing around them. If you can engage them as a community, they seem more motivated and more likely to change their behavior.”
On The Inside
Sometimes it feels like this all day long...
Labrinyths
Should've been a level designer. Kidding. I love creating “playgrounds” for people.
Castles
Throw back to the Dark Souls series.
Single Male's Apartment
I like to break it apart environments by exploring all the nooks and crannies first with sketches and music. This way I can deeply focus and vividly imagine all the richness of textiles, color palettes, materials, finishes, forms, atmosphere, lighting, sounds, and smells that all come together to tell a rich story of the space.
Space Station Bay
Similar to the piece above, here I’m exploring the different aspects of a space station.
Masks & Weaponry
Exploring the Kanük (a underwater colony) tribe’s cultural masks that are imbued with special abilities and their weaponry.
Kanük Seaside Villa
Top view of the village. Usually I create plans like this first to make sure the layout of a space has a logic.
Kanük Village
The perspective view after the top view has been established.
Brainstorm For FabAir
Chaotic & messy process of developing the concept airline FabAir.
Type Obsession (continued)
My brain never stops with the alphabet.
A Black Mass
I think I subconsciously was influenced by this old drawing for my nipple rings.
Type Obsession (continued)
A little OCD?
Sleep Quarters
Color keys for environments. This allows me and the client to foresee the color proportions and lighting before committing to any designs.
Possible combination are endless.
Diagram for undersea train station.
Don't trust me with physical wiring.
Mimi, Kaka, & Dudu
Velwyn & Denny Washing Feet
Command Z
My ultimate and most favorite key combo.
